Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 1, 2025

Introduction

GoodWallet is a platform designed to facilitate charitable fundraising and donations. This Privacy Policy outlines GoodWallet's practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information that we collect from you when you access or use our website and associated services (collectively, the "Services"). At GoodWallet, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information.

GoodWallet is committed to respecting and safeguarding your privacy in connection with the operation of our platform and Services.

1. Information We Collect

A. Non-Personally-Identifying Information

As is typical of many website operators, GoodWallet collects non-personally-identifying information that web browsers and servers typically make available. This may include, but is not limited to, browser type, language preferences, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. The purpose of collecting this non-personally-identifying information is to gain a better understanding of how users interact with the GoodWallet platform and to improve our Services. Periodically, GoodWallet may release aggregated, non-personally-identifying information, for instance, by publishing reports on usage trends.

B. Potentially Personally-Identifying Information

GoodWallet also collects potentially personally-identifying information, such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, for users who are logged into their accounts or making payments through the platform. The disclosure of IP addresses for logged-in users and those making payments is limited to the circumstances described below for personally-identifying information. Notably, payment transaction details, including IP addresses and email addresses, are visible to and processed by our payment processors at the time of the transaction.

C. Personally-Identifying Information

Interactions with GoodWallet may necessitate the collection of personally-identifying information. The extent and nature of the information gathered depend on the specific interaction. For example, users who create an account are asked to provide a username and email address. Users engaging in financial transactions through GoodWallet are required to provide additional information, including personal and financial details necessary to process those transactions. GoodWallet collects such information only to the extent necessary and appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the user's interaction with the platform. GoodWallet does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described in this Privacy Policy. Users may choose not to provide personally-identifying information, although this may limit their ability to engage in certain activities on the platform.

2. Use of Information

A. Payments and Donations

In order to process payments made through GoodWallet, you are required to provide our third-party payment processor, Stripe, with your payment information. Following a transaction, they provide us with a token representing your account, your card's expiration date, card type, and the last four digits of your card number. If you provide your name and email address to the payment processor, they will also share that information with us.

We collect and process information regarding the users you support, the amounts donated, and the frequency of your support. Since all transactions are ultimately directed to supported charities, we also maintain records of the charities receiving funds through our platform.

B. Aggregated Statistics

GoodWallet may collect and analyze statistics regarding user behavior on its platform. This information may be publicly displayed or shared with third parties in an aggregated, non-personally-identifying format. Personally-identifying information will not be disclosed except as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

3. Disclosure of Information

A. Service Providers

GoodWallet discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations that: (i) require access to this information to process it on behalf of GoodWallet or to provide services available through the GoodWallet platform; and (ii) have committed to maintaining the confidentiality of this information. Some of these individuals and entities may be located outside of your country of residence. By using the GoodWallet platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to these parties in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

B. Legal Compliance and Protection of Rights

GoodWallet will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying or personally-identifying information to any third party. Except as described above, GoodWallet will disclose potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request, or when GoodWallet believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property, rights, or safety of GoodWallet, its users, or the public.

C. Communications

If you are a registered user and have provided your email address, GoodWallet may occasionally send you emails regarding new features, to solicit feedback, or to keep you informed about GoodWallet and our Services. If you submit a request to us (e.g., via email or through a feedback mechanism), we reserve the right to publish that request to clarify or respond to your inquiry or to assist other users.

D. Business Transfers

In the event that GoodWallet, or substantially all of its assets, are acquired, or in the unlikely event of GoodWallet ceasing operations or entering bankruptcy proceedings, user information may be among the assets transferred or acquired by a third party. By using the GoodWallet platform, you acknowledge that such transfers may occur and that any acquirer of GoodWallet may continue to use your personal information as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

4. Security

GoodWallet is committed to taking all reasonable measures to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
